Traces of a fort are situated on the crest of an escarpment above the W bank of the Gogar Burn opposite the entrance to the Royal Bank of Scotland complex. Now D-shaped on plan, measuring internally about 100m from NE to SW by 30m transversely (0.24ha), it lies at the apex of a meander in the burn, which has almost certainly eroded the escarpment back into the interior on this side. Elsewhere the defences comprise two ditches set about 8m apart, the outer of which is up to 4m in breadth and appears rather broader than the inner.
