Unscheduled semi-circular contour hillfort sited on the summit plateau overlooking Broughton Brook and the valley of the River Tone at Taunton. The site appears unfinished, a 240m length of rampart and external ditch running E-W across middle of summit plateau turning N at both ends, the rampart extending maximum 2.5m above ditch. Traces of rampart and ditch visible at N end of summit and counterscarp at both N and S ends of defences. Interior scarred by numerous trial pits for ironstone and heavily wooded.
