Summary

In the grounds of Oldbury Court, overlooking the R. Frome where it runs through a deep ravine. A possible hillfort based on an antiquarian reference (Rudder 1779) to a 'small camp which gave its name to the house'. In 1928 'a mound about 2 feet high and 55 feet by 40 feet, surmounted by trees, about 200 yards east of the house just inside Oldbury Park, and bumps in the fields across the road east of the Training College' were noted. LiDAR survey shows nothing, perhaps destroyed by subsequent landscaping (Adams 2015). No further evidence.
