Summary

This coastal promontory is situated immediately N of 'Cream Point' at an inlet known as 'Gouganeena' on the W coast of Co. Clare. The main promontory is a triangular headland of c. 0.16ha that projects W from the mainland, but the co-ordinates in the Archaeological Survey Database of the National Monuments Service place the possible promontory site on a minor finger on its N side, where satellite imagery shows a ditch-like feature cutting across its neck. It is not depicted on any edition of the OS six-inch maps.
