Summary

Triangular inland promontory located on the S end of a natural promontory. Excellent visibility to the S, E and W, but the gradual incline to the N of the fort largely obstructs visibility in this direction. Natural steep slopes defend the summit at the E, S and W. At the N side, where the slope is more gradual, an E-W running bank with an internal ditch guard the approach to the promontory. The interior rises 3.5m above the bottom of the ditch and there is no obvious sign of an internal bank. The ditch measures approximately 5.5m wide. The external bank bank stands 1.2m above the ditch and 1.9m above the exterior ground level. It measures approximately 4m in maximum width. There is no obvious entrance apparent. There are no internal features visible on the surface. There have been no archaeological investigations of this site.
