This fort is situated on the low hill Immediately NW of the old railway line at Kirkinner. Oval on plan, it measures about 125m by 70m transversely (0.69ha) within twin ditches set 6m apart. Neither ditch is particularly broad, the inner measuring a maximum of 3m in breadth and the outer 2m, and this to either side of the entrances on the NE and SW. Within the interior another line can be seen, set some 12m back from the inner ditch everywhere except the NW, where the slope is steeper and it is rather closer; on the flanks of the hill this feature is sufficiently narrow that it might be interpreted as a palisade trench, but it appears to broaden where it traverses the crest and may be a narrow ditch.
