Summary

The easiest line of approach along the spine of this rocky and precipitous hillock, the summit of which is occupied by an oval dun, is blocked by the remains of a wall, now reduced to a bank of rubble 1.5m in thickness with a run of external face. While this wall is usually considered to be an outwork to the dun, it is also possible that it represents the remains of an earlier defence cutting off an area measuring about 40m from NE to SW by 25m transversely (0.08ha). The entrance is probably in the central sector of the wall on the SW.
