Summary

The 1st edition OS 6-inch map depicts a mound beneath the OS triangulation station on the summit of Beins Law and annotates two slightly eccentric enclosing lines 'Fort (Remains of)' (Fifeshire 1856, sheet 9). Both lines are shown as external scarps set between 10m and 20m apart, the inner enclosing an area about 70m in diameter (0.34ha), and the outer about 100m in diameter (0.79ha). No trace remained by the time the OS visited in 1965 and it is apparently now under an off-road driving course.
