Summary

A minor enclosure on the SW shoulder of the summit of the ridge that lies immediately NW of Young Bush Wood was identified by RCAHMS investigators as the marker trench of an unfinished fort. Measuring about 49m by 33m (0.13ha) within a shallow groove, the absence of any other earthworks renders this interpretation unsustainable, and though in some respects the groove resembles a palisade trench, it appears more sharply cut and thus may be a more recent feature.
